The NMC is involved in many wonderful community activities -- but beyond the NMC there is so much happening. Read more below about your neighborhoods and things that affect us all.

The NMC is currently looking for a member(s) who will gather infomation regarding the Amesbury, Newbury, W. Newbury, Byfield, Georgetown, (etc.) areas. If you are interested, please contact the NMC President.

THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT

Newburyport is a small coastal city in Essex County, Massachusetts, 38 miles (61 km) northeast of Boston. An historic seaport with a vibrant tourism industry, Newburyport includes part of Plum Island. The mooring, winter storage and maintenance of recreational boats, motor and sail, still contribute a large part of the city's income. A coast guard station keeps a watchful eye on boating activity, especially in the swift tidal currents of the Merrimack River.

The YWCA NEWBURYPORT

The YWCA Greater Newburyport is a membership organization dedicated to transforming the lives of women and their families in the Greater Newburyport community. For 125 years, the YWCA Greater Newburyport has been a strong community leader promoting wellness, supporting families, developing leaders, and advocating for equality and justice.

Transition Newburyport

Transition Newburyport is a local chapter of a broader international movement working to develop creative and active local responses to the challenges of Climate Change, Peak Oil and Economic Instability.

Town of West Newbury

Located 40 miles north of Boston, West Newbury is a delightful community characterized by rolling hills with broad valleys and an unspoiled rural charm. The Merrimack River, which flows along the northern border, provides scenic beauty and recreational boating. Hiking trails being developed along the West Newbury shoreline will connect with those of adjacent communities.

Town of Salisbury

The Town of Salisbury is located about 45 miles north of Boston on what is commonly known as the Northshore. It is bordered on the north by New Hampshire, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, on the south by the Merrimack River and the City of Newburyport and on the west by the Town of Amesbury. Renowned for its beaches, boating, fishing, and summer entertainment, Salisbury is home to 7,800 year round residents, many of whom work in local shops and businesses.

Town of Groveland

Groveland is a small residential community which retains all of the characteristics of a friendly rural town in the setting of a convenient suburb. The town supports baseball and soccer fields, basketball courts, picnic areas and parks, as well as boating facilities on the Merrimac River, all of which are heavily used by residents. Located in northeastern Massachusetts, bordered by West Newbury on the north, Newbury and Georgetown on the east, Boxford on the south, and Haverhill on the west. Groveland is 31 miles north of Boston and 255 miles from New York City.

Newburyport Yankee Homecoming 2010

I would like to welcome you to Yankee Homecoming 2010 - "Come Together", the 53rd year of this great tradition in Newburyport, MA. We believe this year’s Yankee Homecoming will be an event where families, friends, neighbors and visitors can "Come Together" and enjoy all of the planned festivities.

Newburyport Adult & Community Education

Newburyport Adult and Community Education is a self-supporting program. It is under the auspices of the Newburyport Public School System. Its budget is funded primarily from course fees. Additional funding has been made available from the Newburyport Five-Cent Savings Bank.
