Erica Jacobsen

“Hi, my name is Erica Jacobsen and I’m an NMC addict. This is my fourth year on the NMC board.” I joined the NMC board in September 2006 as the Babysitting List Coordinator. Since then, I’ve also served as Vice-President (May 2007 – Dec 2008), Newcomer Coordinator (Feb 2008 – Sept 2008), and interim Ad Manager (May 2008 – Sept 2008). In 2009, it was my honor to serve as President and interim Ad Manager for the second half of the year. For 2010, I’ve decided to stay where I always seem to end up, running Advertising for the NMC. My husband, Todd, and I are the proud parents of Cole, 4, and Annie, 1, who keep us moving and laughing throughout the day. Despite moving to Newburyport during Yankee Homecoming and living in the heart of downtown for three years before buying our home in Newbury, we didn’t have a strong connection to the local community until we became parents. Now we can’t imagine leaving the area. Through our volunteering and involvement with the NMC over the past four years, we’ve not only participated in a wide variety of fun activities for kids and adults, we’ve also found a wonderfully supportive group of friends for all of us. In addition to being a full-time mommy to Cole and Annie, I also work part-time as a marketing consultant, and I couldn’t do it all without Todd’s flexibility and support (and a couple of cups of coffee a day). When I have free time and am not overwhelmed by motherhood, working or volunteering, I make time to enjoy my favorite sanity savers: running, AtoZ, updating my facebook status, and cozying up and sharing a glass of wine with the love of my life, Todd.
