President

Kelly Woodsum

The President is the head of the Newburyport Mothers Club. Main responsibilities include running the monthly officer meetings, handling member issues/concerns, setting overall strategy for the club, and ensuring that all "moving pieces" are working. The President also serves as ambassador of the club to all outside organizations. In addition, this individual write a monthly piece for the newsletter. The President is also a director of the club.
 
 
 

Vice President

Kelly Marshall


The Vice President supports the President by running meetings if the President is unavailable and also supports the President in making club decisions. The VP is also responsible for administration of the NMC private online community. This includes, but is not limited to, approving membership applications, maintaining membership reports, coordination of the membership renewal process, and facilitating online communications with the club. When necessary, this individual will also fill-in and handle items not covered by other roles. The Vice President is also a director of the club.
 
 
 

Treasurer

Danielle Levy


The Treasurer is responsible for paying all bills, collecting and recording dues and advertising revenue, and reimbursing officers for expenses. Knowledge of budgeting and necessary software tools (Excel/Quicken etc.) is necessary.
 
 
 

Director of Event Coordination

The Director of Event Coordination is responsible for maintaining the Master NMC Calendar of events, maintaining the Group Calendar to ensure event planning is underway and successful, conducting board member training, maintaining the Master NMC Event Planning Binder to assist future board members in planning events, and compiling event listings and information for the monthly newsletter. The Director of Event Coordination is also a director of the club, and in the event that the President and Vice President cannot attend a major NMC event, the Director of Event Coordination will be responsible for any monetary decisions.
 
 
 

Board Coordinator/Secretary

The Board Coordinator/Secretary is a member of the NMC executive committee and oversees all records kept by the club. In addition, the Board Coordinator/Secretary coordinates monthly board meetings, records monthly minutes, and manages the agenda items for upcoming meetings. This role also involves facilitating the subgroups on the private website and is responsible for a team of board members who collect event listings, manage the babysitter list, and execute the annual Preschool Forum.

The Kids Outings Team-Lead is the main contact for the President in communicating with the other Kids Outings Coordinators and is responsible for reporting current activities at the board meetings as well as planning fun outings for kids and families. There are a number of popular annual kids events including the Halloween party, Holiday party, and Easter Egg hunt. 5+ events are typically planned per month allowing for endless creativity as the options are open for new and different kinds of activities for our membership. Newcomer Coordinator

The Newcomer Coordinator is responsible for welcoming new members to the NMC. Most often this includes phone calls and/or email communications to all new members to help them become familiar with the NMC and its many member benefits (NMC private online community, upcoming events, playgroups etc.). The Newcomer Coordinator also works with Adult and Kids Outings coordinators to facilitate quarterly newcomer events. Overall, the Newcomer Coordinator is the "welcome wagon" for the NMC.
 
 
 

Playgroup Coordinator

The Playgroup Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Playgroup sub-groups and reaching out to new members who may be having difficulty starting/connecting with a playgroup. This role may also require the organization of Playgroup Meet-n-Greets to give members the opportunity to connect with other members in person in an effort to join a playgroup.

Public Relations Coordinator

The PR Coordinator is responsible for external NMC communication with the greater community including the local media and Chamber of Commerce for calendar listings, photo opportunities, event coverage, etc. The role also includes supporting other members of the board with public relations for their events and initiatives as well as the management of NMC sponsorship benefits and opportunities when applicable.
 
 
 

Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining general informational marketing collateral (NMC flyers, informational recruitment pieces, etc.) for posting and distribution within the local community. This role also includes supporting other members of the board with advertising and marketing material development for their events and initiatives which may include maintaining and distributing NMC signs, business cards, billboards, banners, balloons, t-shirts, etc. Additionally, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for updating and marketing the NMC Activity Guide which details all of the parks, pools, gyms, farms, sport complexes, arts and crafts, music/dance and other child-friendly North Shore attractions.

The Newsletter Designer is responsible for receiving all newsletter content from the Newsletter Managing Editor and from officers. This individual lays out the entire newsletter, balancing advertisements, articles, photos, etc. and is also the liaison between the NMC and the publishing house to ensure timely delivery to the membership.
 
 
 

Advertising Manager

The Advertising Manager is responsible to the coordination of all advertising opportunities for the NMC newsletter. Revenue generated by the advertisements in the newsletter help to fund production costs of the newsletter and support club activities. Primary duties include accepting electronic submissions of ads from businesses and prompt follow-up, ensuring appropriate specifications, cross-referencing payments, coordinating placement with Newsletter Designer, and supplying a monthly ad report to the Treasurer and President. This individual should possess strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and computer knowledge (Excel). Solicitation for new advertisers is also encouraged, but in many cases, potential advertisers contact us so they can reach a targeted audience of local families with young children.

The NMC Consignment Sale is open to the public and the club's portion (30%) of sales is donated towards a lasting community gift. The Early Education Fair is open to the public and offers a comprehensive view of many of the area preschool and kindergarten options. This individual should have experience volunteering with the NMC (or other large event) and possess strong computer and organizational skills. In-A-Pinch Coordinator

The In-A-Pinch Coordinator is responsible for handling all mom-to-mom requests for help during times of need. Most often this involves arranging the delivery of 3 to 5 meals to families who could use a hand. This individual recruits NMC member volunteers to provide meals as well as promotes the availability of this service. This role helps maintain the sense of community and mom-helping-mom mentality!

This role is THE KEY to alerting fellow club members to all of the great local activities available to families.
